Our Great New Zealand South Island Bike TourWeek 3by Pamela Blalock with (most) photos by John Bayley
Once off the track, we took a bus back to Glenorchy and retrieved our tandem. We sent the backpacks back to Queenstown, where I would arrange shipping back to Nelson. I hadn't really thought about it being Saturday when we arrived in Queenstown, and I found out the hard way that I couldn't arrange shipping until Monday (or so I thought).
After a week of walking it was nice to have another day of reprieve from traffic. The weather was lovely, although a bit chilly. I think that the sheep ran away from us for fear we would steal their wooly coats! We took heaps of pictures and they all came out great, so it's been very difficult to select just a few! We got back to the dock well before the next sailing, so we were able to go watch a sheep shearing and pester the shearer with lots of questions about our favorite Merino Sheep. It was a shame we hadn't arranged to have dinner at the station. The menu looked very appetizing. Maybe next time.
Enough of this biking stuff. Jump straight to the |
