Riding with Stephen Roche. One of the highlights of the camp of course is getting to meet and ride with Stephen Roche. Stephen joined some of the groups for Friday's ride up to the Col d'Orient. John and Stephen climbed together and apparently John talked too much on the climb, as Stephen suggested he would be more inclined to answer John's questions on a flatter part of the route!

 

On Saturday, all the groups rode together for a short ride with a couple of climbs. And descents... where Stephen offered me some much needed descending advice. I'm so used to just hanging on the back on the tandem, that I don't have lots of practice steering myself down. Thanks to Steve's tips I am getting better!

Saturday afternoon, John, Susan, and I took the narrow gauge railway from Palma up to Soller for lunch on the common in Soller. The views from the train were pretty spectacular, I highly recommend the train ride if you go.
